Both Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrett Blount are known to get high on the football field. As a matter of fact, they are arguably the best jumpers in the NFL taking incredible leaps in the air while dodging defenders. Therefore it should come as no surprise that they both took their ‘high in the sky’ talents off the field yesterday.
The two Pittsburgh Steelers were both arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession on Wednesday afternoon. The Pennsylvania police department confirmed to NFL media outlets that Blount and Bell were pulled over due to smoke escaping from their car. Bell was also given a DUI charge as he was operating the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. Currently under investigation both players will likely face some form of suspension from the NFL.
This news may also set the stage for the 3rd round rookie Dri Archer. The speedy Kent State running back was drafted as a change of pace scat back, basically meaning he isn’t quite girthy enough to take the beating of a full NFL workload. Chances are the Steelers will sign a short term replacement to help out the run game while the two starters serve their suspension but after showing glimpses of his explosiveness in pre-season hopefully its Archer who can carve out a fair portion of the crowded Pittsburgh back field.
