Welcome back freshtakers to yet another edition of Freshtake’s Fresh Picks. Now so far the season has been a bit of a roller coaster ride. With talent loaded teams like The Colts and Chiefs struggling miserably and looking like prime candidates for the Leonard Fournette sweeptakes. Week 8 highlights probably the biggest clash of the season which features the 6-0 Green Packers take on the 6-0 Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium. Both teams are coming off byes so they both have had extra time to heal and gameplan. So it should be a dandy to watch. As the halfway mark for the season nears the contenders will separate themselves from the pretenders. Last week I was 8-8 so hopefully I can improve on that this week. Now for the picks in Week 8 in the NFL! Continue reading BoSo’s Week 8 NFL Fresh Picks
My beloved NBA is back again! This year is sure to be another entertaining & drama filled year as many teams now have new faces to try to compete for the coveted trophy. The Warriors are the defending champs and kept the same nucleus that features the “Splash Brothers” Klay Thompson and reigning MVP Stephen Curry. The Thunder welcome back KD after a season riddled with injury. The Thunder also have a new head coach Billy Donovan from the University of Florida. OKC has very high expectations and playing in the west is no cakewalk. Lebron came back to Cleveland to win a ring but last year injuries to Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving really limited the help Lebron had. With Kevin Love healthy and Kyrie on the mend The Cavs are poised to return back to the big dance. The Miami Heat look like a very intriguing “powerhouse” in the East. With young Hassan Whiteside anchoring the defense and a healthy Bosh and Wade along with Goran Dragic the Heat should compete for top honors in the East.
I took a little hiatus for personal reasons but now I will be back each and every week for Freshtake’s fresh picks for the week in the NFL. Through 6 weeks in the NFL 5 unbeaten teams remain. The Bengals, Packers, Patriots, Panthers, and Broncos. Will Week 7 see one or all of these juggernauts go down? Stay tuned to find out as the soap opera that is the NFL unravels. It is important to note that 4 of the 5 teams are prospering from excellent MVPesque quarterback play. Rodgers, Brady, Dalton. and Newton have all been playing at an elite level week in and week out. A surprising occurrence but it is the Broncos defense that has uplifted the team not the legendary Peyton Manning. Father time definitely is chasing Peyton but will Peyton’s 5.5 speed be enough to evade it? Important to note Broncos and Packers are on a Bye this week. We shall see. Now for the picks for Week 7! Continue reading BoSo’s NFL Week 7 Fresh Picks
